महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-7, verse-9

देवताः पितरस्तस्मात्पितरश्चापि देवताः ।
एकीभूताश्च पूज्यन्ते पृथक्त्वेन च पर्वसु ॥९॥
9. devatāḥ pitarastasmātpitaraścāpi devatāḥ ,
ekībhūtāśca pūjyante pṛthaktvena ca parvasu.

ekībhūtāḥ ca pūjyante pṛthaktvena ca parvasu
9. Therefore, the gods are the ancestors, and the ancestors are indeed the gods. They are worshipped both in a unified form and separately on auspicious days.
