सूत उवाच ।
व्याहर्तुकामे वरदे नृपे द्विजं वरं वृणीष्वेति ततोऽभ्युवाच ।
होता वाक्यं नातिहृष्टान्तरात्मा कर्मण्यस्मिंस्तक्षको नैति तावत् ॥३॥

hotā vākyaṁ nātihṛṣṭāntarātmā; karmaṇyasmiṁstakṣako naiti tāvat.

Sūta said: When the king, ready to speak and grant a boon, addressed the brahmin, saying, "Choose a boon!", the Hotā priest, whose inner self was not greatly pleased, then spoke these words: "Takṣaka has not come to this ritual yet."
