The thought "This is mine" (mama idam iti) leads to bondage, while the thought "I am not" (na aham iti) certainly leads to liberation (mokṣa). When the reality (vastu) is merely of this nature and dependent on one's own self (ātman), what room is there for ignorance (ajñatā)?
