श्रीवाल्मीकिरुवाच ।
एतत्ते कथितं राजन्कुम्भयोनेः सुभाषितम् ।
अमुना तत्त्वमार्गेण तत्पदं प्राप्स्यसि ध्रुवम् ॥ १ ॥

1. Śrī Vālmīki said: O King, this excellent teaching has been recounted to you, originating from Kumbhayoni (Agastya). By following this path of truth (tattva), you will undoubtedly attain that supreme state.

1. וָאלְמִיקִי (המשורר והחכם) אמר: המלך, זהו דבר החכמה הנפלא של קֻמְבְהַיוֹנִי (הקדוש אַגַסְתְיַה שנולד מכד) שסופר לך. בנתיב אמת זה תגיע לבטח אל אותו מצב עליון.
