आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः ।

18. Indeed, one's own self (ātman) is one's friend, and one's own self (ātman) is also one's enemy. If the self (ātman) is not protected by the self (ātman), then there is no other means.
