योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-136, verse-16

आसीच्चेतनवातात्माऽभविष्यत्प्राणिनामकः ।
रजसा पयसा व्याप्तस्तेजसा नभसाणुना ॥ १६ ॥
āsīccetanavātātmā'bhaviṣyatprāṇināmakaḥ ,
rajasā payasā vyāptastejasā nabhasāṇunā 16

16. It (that consciousness) became the conscious essence of air and came to be called a 'living being' (prāṇin). It was pervaded by dust/passion (rajas), water, light/fire, and subtle space.
