तथैवेदं च संजातं यदि सर्वमसन्मयम् ।
तदस्माकं दृढतरः प्रत्ययः कथमुत्थितः ॥ २ ॥

tathaivedaṃ ca saṃjātaṃ yadi sarvamasanmayam ,
tadasmākaṃ dṛḍhataraḥ pratyayaḥ kathamutthitaḥ 2

2. tathā eva idam ca saṃjātam yadi sarvam asanmayam |
tat asmākam dṛḍhataraḥ pratyayaḥ katham utthitaḥ ||

2. And if this entire universe has come into being in such a way, consisting of unreality (asat), then how has such a firm conviction (pratyaya) arisen for us?
