श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अस्मिन्भगवति ब्रह्मंश्चपलं पदमाश्रिते ।
पितामहे महाबाहो कृतसर्गव्यवस्थितौ ॥ १ ॥

1. Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: "O Brahmā (brahman)! O mighty-armed Rāma! In this revered grandfather (Brahmā), who has established the cosmic order of creation and who has resorted to a fickle state..."
