वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-71, verse-18

एष तं नरशार्दूलो रावणिं निशितैः शरैः ।
त्याजयिष्यति तत् कर्म ततो वध्यो भविष्यति ॥१८॥
18. eṣa taṃ naraśārdūlo rāvaṇiṃ niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ,
tyājayiṣyati tat karma tato vadhyo bhaviṣyati.
18. eṣa tam naraśārdūlaḥ rāvaṇim niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ
tyājayişyati tat karma tataḥ vadhyaḥ bhavişyati
18. eṣa naraśārdūlaḥ niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ tam rāvaṇim

18. This foremost of men (Lakṣmaṇa) will make Rāvaṇi relinquish that action (karma) with his sharp arrows. Thereafter, he will become vulnerable to being killed.
