वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-27, verse-8

आनीय च वनात् सीतां पद्महीनामिव श्रियम् ।
किमर्थं प्रतिदास्यामि राघवस्य भयादहम् ॥८॥
8. ānīya ca vanāt sītāṃ padmahīnāmiva śriyam ,
kimarthaṃ pratidāsyāmi rāghavasya bhayādaham.

kimartham pratidāsyāmi rāghavasya bhayāt aham
8. aham vanāt sītām padmahīnām śriyam iva ānīya

8. And having brought Sītā from the forest, like fortune (śrī) deprived of her lotus, why should I return her because of fear of Rāghava?
