पितर्युपरते ऽस्माकं ज्येष्ठो ऽयमिति मन्त्रिभिः ।

Upon the passing of our father, he (Vālī) was appointed ruler over the monkeys in the kingdom by the ministers, who considered him 'the eldest.' He was greatly approved by all.
