वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-17, verse-22

निकृत्तकर्णनासा तु विस्वरं सा विनद्य च ।
यथागतं प्रदुद्राव घोरा शूर्पणखा वनम् ॥२२॥
22. nikṛttakarṇanāsā tu visvaraṃ sā vinadya ca ,
yathāgataṃ pradudrāva ghorā śūrpaṇakhā vanam.

22. But the terrifying Śūrpaṇakhā, with her ear and nose cut off, let out a piercing scream and fled back to the forest the way she had come.
