वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-17, verse-33

यथामृतस्य संप्राप्तिर्यथा वर्षमनूदके ।
यथा सदृशदारेषु पुत्रजन्माप्रजस्य च ।
प्रनष्टस्य यथा लाभो यथा हर्षो महोदये ।
तथैवागमनं मन्ये स्वागतं ते महामुने ॥३३॥
33. yathāmṛtasya saṃprāptiryathā varṣamanūdake ,
yathā sadṛśadāreṣu putrajanmāprajasya ca ,
pranaṣṭasya yathā lābho yathā harṣo mahodaye ,
tathaivāgamanaṃ manye svāgataṃ te mahāmune.
33. yathā amṛtasya samprāptiḥ yathā varṣam anūdake
yathā sadṛśadāreṣu putrajammā aprajasyā ca
pranaṣṭasya yathā lābhaḥ yathā harṣaḥ mahodaye

varṣam yathā sadṛśadāreṣu aprajasyā ca
putrajammā yathā pranaṣṭasya lābhaḥ yathā mahodaye
harṣaḥ tathā eva te āgamanam svāgatam manye
33. Just as the attainment of nectar, just as rain upon a waterless land, just as the birth of a son to a childless man from a suitable wife, just as the recovery of something lost, and just as joy in a great prosperity—similarly, I consider your arrival a welcome, O great sage.
