अङ्गुष्ठाद्दक्षिणाद्दक्षमसृजद्द्विजसत्तम ॥९॥

O best among the twice-born (dvija), formerly, Brahmā, the lord of creatures, wishing to create various beings, created Dakṣa from his right thumb.
