मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-118, verse-23

सम्प्रास्तस्य परामार्त्तिं ददावरिविनाशनम् ।
बलं धर्मेण चाक्षिप्तमभ्युपेत्य स्वयं नृपम् ॥२३॥
23. samprāstasya parāmārttiṃ dadāvarivināśanam .
balaṃ dharmeṇa cākṣiptamabhyupetya svayaṃ nṛpam.

23. Approaching the king himself, who had fallen into extreme distress, he bestowed upon him strength that could destroy enemies, strength that had been (temporarily) restrained by (his adherence to) natural law (dharma).
