महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-170, verse-13

वीर्यशुल्काश्च ता ज्ञात्वा समारोप्य रथं तदा ।
अवोचं पार्थिवान्सर्वानहं तत्र समागतान् ।
भीष्मः शांतनवः कन्या हरतीति पुनः पुनः ॥१३॥
13. vīryaśulkāśca tā jñātvā samāropya rathaṁ tadā ,
avocaṁ pārthivānsarvānahaṁ tatra samāgatān ,
bhīṣmaḥ śāṁtanavaḥ kanyā haratīti punaḥ punaḥ.
13. vīryaśulkāḥ ca tāḥ jñātvā samāropya
ratham tadā avocam pārthivān sarvān
aham tatra samāgatān bhīṣmaḥ
śāntanavaḥ kanyāḥ harati iti punaḥ punaḥ

13. Knowing that these maidens were to be won by valor, I then placed them on my chariot. I repeatedly declared to all the kings assembled there, "Bhishma, the son of Shantanu, is carrying away the maidens!"
