महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-121, verse-14

तदनेनैव दोषेण क्षीणं येनासि पातितः ।
अभिमानेन राजेन्द्र धिक्कृतः स्वर्गवासिभिः ॥१४॥
14. tadanenaiva doṣeṇa kṣīṇaṁ yenāsi pātitaḥ ,
abhimānena rājendra dhikkṛtaḥ svargavāsibhiḥ.
14. tat anena eva doṣeṇa kṣīṇam yena asi pātitaḥ
abhimānena rājendra dhikṛtaḥ svargavāsibhiḥ
14. That [merit] was destroyed by this very fault, due to which you have fallen. O King of kings (rājendra), you were disgraced by the inhabitants of heaven because of your ego (abhimāna).
