महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-50, verse-9

अस्याविदूरे तु धनुर्ध्वजाग्रे यस्य दृश्यते ।
आचार्यस्यैष पुत्रो वै अश्वत्थामा महारथः ॥९॥
9. asyāvidūre tu dhanurdhvajāgre yasya dṛśyate ,
ācāryasyaiṣa putro vai aśvatthāmā mahārathaḥ.

9. Not far from him, at the top of whose banner a bow is seen, is indeed this son of the preceptor (guru), Ashvatthama, the great chariot-warrior.
