महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-13, verse-18

न चाप्यहं त्वया शक्या गन्धर्वाः पतयो मम ।
ते त्वां निहन्युः कुपिताः साध्वलं मा व्यनीनशः ॥१८॥
18. na cāpyahaṁ tvayā śakyā gandharvāḥ patayo mama ,
te tvāṁ nihanyuḥ kupitāḥ sādhvalaṁ mā vyanīnaśaḥ.
18. na ca api aham tvayā śakyā gandharvāḥ patayaḥ mama
te tvām nihanyuḥ kupitāḥ sādhu alam mā vi anīnaśaḥ
18. Nor, indeed, can I be taken by you, for the Gandharvas are my husbands. Angered (kupita), they would surely kill you. Enough (alam) of this! Do not cause me to perish.
