आकाशदेशमासाद्य विमुक्तं कृष्णवर्त्मना ।

9. After Nala reached the region of the sky, freed from the dark path (of smoke) and desiring to release him (Karkoṭaka), the serpent Karkoṭaka again spoke to him.
