महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-215, verse-7

विश्वामित्रस्तु कृत्वेष्टिं सप्तर्षीणां महामुनिः ।
पावकं कामसंतप्तमदृष्टः पृष्ठतोऽन्वगात् ।
तत्तेन निखिलं सर्वमवबुद्धं यथातथम् ॥७॥
7. viśvāmitrastu kṛtveṣṭiṁ saptarṣīṇāṁ mahāmuniḥ ,
pāvakaṁ kāmasaṁtaptamadṛṣṭaḥ pṛṣṭhato'nvagāt ,
tattena nikhilaṁ sarvamavabuddhaṁ yathātatham.
7. viśvāmitraḥ tu kṛtvā iṣṭim saptarṣīṇām
mahāmuniḥ pāvakam kāmasaṃtaptam
adṛṣṭaḥ pṛṣṭataḥ anvagāt tat tena
nikhilam sarvam avabuddham yathātatham
7. However, the great sage Viśvāmitra, having performed a sacrifice for the seven sages (Saptarṣis), unperceived, followed the fire god (Pāvaka) from behind, as he was tormented by desire (kāma). All of that was then entirely understood by him just as it truly happened.
