महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-215, verse-12

अन्वजानाच्च स्वाहाया रूपान्यत्वं महामुनिः ।
अब्रवीच्च मुनीन्सर्वान्नापराध्यन्ति वै स्त्रियः ।
श्रुत्वा तु तत्त्वतस्तस्मात्ते पत्नीः सर्वतोऽत्यजन् ॥१२॥
12. anvajānācca svāhāyā rūpānyatvaṁ mahāmuniḥ ,
abravīcca munīnsarvānnāparādhyanti vai striyaḥ ,
śrutvā tu tattvatastasmātte patnīḥ sarvato'tyajan.

12. The great sage (Agni, or a divine voice) acknowledged Svāhā's transformation of form. He also declared to all the sages, "Indeed, women are not at fault." However, having truly heard this principle from him, they (the sages) completely abandoned their wives.
