महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-139, verse-6

मृगं तु मन्यमानेन पिता वै तेन हिंसितः ।
अकामयानेन तदा शरीरत्राणमिच्छता ॥६॥
6. mṛgaṁ tu manyamānena pitā vai tena hiṁsitaḥ ,
akāmayānena tadā śarīratrāṇamicchatā.

akāmayānena tadā śarīratrāṇam icchatā
6. But indeed, his father was killed by him (Parāvasu) at that time, who mistook him for a deer and did not desire (to kill him), but merely wished for his own self-preservation.
