महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-139, verse-15

उच्यमानोऽसकृत्प्रेष्यैर्ब्रह्महन्निति भारत ।
नैव स प्रतिजानाति ब्रह्महत्यां स्वयं कृताम् ।
मम भ्रात्रा कृतमिदं मया तु परिरक्षितम् ॥१५॥
15. ucyamāno'sakṛtpreṣyairbrahmahanniti bhārata ,
naiva sa pratijānāti brahmahatyāṁ svayaṁ kṛtām ,
mama bhrātrā kṛtamidaṁ mayā tu parirakṣitam.

iti bhārata na eva saḥ pratijānāti
brahmahatyām svayam kṛtām mama
bhrātrā kṛtam idam mayā tu parirakṣitam
15. O Bhārata, though repeatedly called 'O killer of a brahmin (brahmahan)' by the servants, he certainly did not acknowledge the brahmanicide as committed by himself. [Instead, he stated:] 'This was done by my brother, but I shielded him.'
