नैव स प्रतिजानाति ब्रह्महत्यां स्वयं कृताम् ।
मम भ्रात्रा कृतमिदं मया तु परिरक्षितम् ॥१५॥

15.
O Bhārata, though repeatedly called 'O killer of a brahmin (brahmahan)' by the servants, he certainly did not acknowledge the brahmanicide as committed by himself. [Instead, he stated:] 'This was done by my brother, but I shielded him.'
