महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-129, verse-22

वेदी प्रजापतेरेषा समन्तात्पञ्चयोजना ।
कुरोर्वै यज्ञशीलस्य क्षेत्रमेतन्महात्मनः ॥२२॥
22. vedī prajāpatereṣā samantātpañcayojanā ,
kurorvai yajñaśīlasya kṣetrametanmahātmanaḥ.

kuroḥ vai yajñaśīlasya kṣetram etat mahātmanaḥ
22. This altar (vedī) of Prajāpati extends five yojanas all around. This indeed is the sacred field (kṣetram) of the great-souled (mahātmanaḥ) Kuru, who was devoted to Vedic ritual (yajña).
