महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-3, verse-13

न च बालानिमान्दीनानुत्सहे वसु याचितुम् ।
तथैवार्द्रव्रणान्कृच्छ्रे वर्तमानान्नृपात्मजान् ॥१३॥
13. na ca bālānimāndīnānutsahe vasu yācitum ,
tathaivārdravraṇānkṛcchre vartamānānnṛpātmajān.
13. na ca bālān imān dīnān utsahe vasu yācitum tathā
eva ārdravraṇān kṛcchre vartamānān nṛpātmajān
13. ca imān dīnān bālān vasu yācitum na utsahe tathā
eva kṛcchre vartamānān ārdravraṇān nṛpātmajān
13. And I cannot bring myself to ask for wealth from these miserable children. Similarly, I cannot ask from these princes who are suffering greatly and have fresh wounds.
