महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-100, verse-16

पितॄन्संतर्पयित्वा तु बलिं कुर्याद्विधानतः ।
वैश्वदेवं ततः कुर्यात्पश्चाद्ब्राह्मणवाचनम् ॥१६॥
16. pitṝnsaṁtarpayitvā tu baliṁ kuryādvidhānataḥ ,
vaiśvadevaṁ tataḥ kuryātpaścādbrāhmaṇavācanam.

16. Having satisfied the ancestors, one should perform the bali offering according to the prescribed rules. Thereafter, one should perform the Vaiśvadeva ritual, and then the recitation by brāhmaṇas.
