महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-90, verse-18

एकान्तेन हि सर्वेषां न शक्यं तात रोचितुम् ।
मित्रामित्रमथो मध्यं सर्वभूतेषु भारत ॥१८॥
18. ekāntena hi sarveṣāṁ na śakyaṁ tāta rocitum ,
mitrāmitramatho madhyaṁ sarvabhūteṣu bhārata.

mitrāmitram atho madhyam sarvabhūteṣu bhārata
18. tāta bhārata hi ekāntena sarveṣām rocitum na

18. O dear one (tāta), O descendant of Bharata (bhārata), it is indeed impossible to please everyone exclusively. Nor, among all beings, can there be simply friends, enemies, or neutral parties.
