न कुप्ये न च मे कामो न भवेरन्प्रजा इति ।
लाघवार्थं धरण्यास्तु ततः संहार इष्यते ॥३॥

3. prajāpatiruvāca ,
na kupye na ca me kāmo na bhaveranprajā iti ,
lāghavārthaṁ dharaṇyāstu tataḥ saṁhāra iṣyate.

Prajāpati (Brahmā) replied: 'I am not angry, nor is it my desire that these creatures should cease to exist. Rather, it is for the sake of lightening the burden of the earth that destruction is desired.'
