महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-207, verse-23

स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय कन्यां तां प्रतिगृह्य च ।
उवास नगरे तस्मिन्कौन्तेयस्त्रिहिमाः समाः ॥२३॥
23. sa tatheti pratijñāya kanyāṁ tāṁ pratigṛhya ca ,
uvāsa nagare tasminkaunteyastrihimāḥ samāḥ.

ca uvāsa nagare tasmin kaunteyaḥ trihimāḥ samāḥ
23. Having thus agreed and accepted that maiden, Arjuna (Kaunteya) lived in that city for three years.
