महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-170, verse-15

नानीशैर्हि तदा तात भृगुभिर्भावितात्मभिः ।
वधोऽभ्युपेक्षितः सर्वैः क्षत्रियाणां विहिंसताम् ॥१५॥
15. nānīśairhi tadā tāta bhṛgubhirbhāvitātmabhiḥ ,
vadho'bhyupekṣitaḥ sarvaiḥ kṣatriyāṇāṁ vihiṁsatām.
15. na anīśaiḥ hi tadā tāta bhṛgubhiḥ bhāvitātmabhiḥ
vadhaḥ abhyupekṣitaḥ sarvaiḥ kṣatriyāṇām vihiṃsatām
15. Indeed, dear son (tāta), at that time, the slaughter of the violent Kṣatriyas was tolerated by all the Bhrigus, whose selves (ātman) were purified, not by those who were powerless.
