महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-167, verse-8

ततः स पुनरेवर्षिर्नदीं हैमवतीं तदा ।
चण्डग्राहवतीं दृष्ट्वा तस्याः स्रोतस्यवापतत् ॥८॥
8. tataḥ sa punarevarṣirnadīṁ haimavatīṁ tadā ,
caṇḍagrāhavatīṁ dṛṣṭvā tasyāḥ srotasyavāpatat.
8. tataḥ saḥ punaḥ eva ṛṣiḥ nadīm haimavatīm tadā
caṇḍagrāhavatīm dṛṣṭvā tasyāḥ srotasi avāpatat
8. Then, that sage, having seen the Himalayan river, which was full of fierce aquatic creatures, plunged into its current at that time.
