And the fifth [type of silence] is mental silence (manomauna). That [inert mental silence] is like death for a 'log-like ascetic' (kāṣṭhatāpase). However, a liberated-in-life (jīvanmukta) experiences a state known as 'deep-sleep silence' (suṣuptamauna).
