श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
यस्मिंस्तस्मिन्पदार्थे हि येन तेन यथा तथा ।
तीव्रसंवेगसंपन्नं मनः पश्यति वाञ्छितम् ॥ १ ॥

1. Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Indeed, the mind, when imbued with intense longing, perceives its desired object in any particular thing, by whatever means, and in whatever manner.
