श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
यस्मिंस्तस्मिन्पदार्थे हि येन तेन यथा तथा ।
तीव्रसंवेगसंपन्नं मनः पश्यति वाञ्छितम् ॥ १ ॥
यस्मिंस्तस्मिन्पदार्थे हि येन तेन यथा तथा ।
तीव्रसंवेगसंपन्नं मनः पश्यति वाञ्छितम् ॥ १ ॥
śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca ,
yasmiṃstasminpadārthe hi yena tena yathā tathā ,
tīvrasaṃvegasaṃpannaṃ manaḥ paśyati vāñchitam 1

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Indeed, the mind, when imbued with intense longing, perceives its desired object in any particular thing, by whatever means, and in whatever manner.
