वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-81, verse-12

नान्यं पश्यामि भैषज्यमन्तरेण वृषध्वजम् ।
नाश्वमेधात् परो यज्ञः प्रियश्चैव महात्मनः ॥१२॥
12. nānyaṃ paśyāmi bhaiṣajyamantareṇa vṛṣadhvajam ,
nāśvamedhāt paro yajñaḥ priyaścaiva mahātmanaḥ.
12. na anyam paśyāmi bhaiṣajyam antareṇa vṛṣadhvajam na
aśvamedhāt paraḥ yajñaḥ priyaḥ ca eva mahātmanaḥ
12. vṛṣadhvajam antareṇa anyam bhaiṣajyam na paśyāmi
aśvamedhāt paraḥ yajñaḥ na ca eva mahātmanaḥ priyaḥ
12. I see no other remedy apart from Vṛṣadhvaja (Shiva). No (Vedic ritual) yajña is superior to the aśvamedha, and it is indeed very dear to the great lord (mahātman).
