वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-76, verse-6

त्रिधा भूतं करिष्ये ऽहमात्मानं सुरसत्तमाः ।
तेन वृत्रं सहस्राक्षो हनिष्यति न संशयः ॥६॥
6. tridhā bhūtaṃ kariṣye'hamātmānaṃ surasattamāḥ ,
tena vṛtraṃ sahasrākṣo haniṣyati na saṃśayaḥ.
6. tridhā bhūtam kariṣye aham ātmānam surasattamāḥ
tena vṛtram sahasrākṣaḥ haniṣyati na saṃśayaḥ
6. surasattamāḥ aham ātmānam tridhā bhūtam kariṣye
tena sahasrākṣaḥ vṛtram haniṣyati na saṃśayaḥ
6. O excellent gods, I will make my self (ātman) threefold. By that, the thousand-eyed Indra will undoubtedly slay Vṛtra.
