वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-53, verse-22

यद्वा दहनकर्मायं सर्वत्र प्रभुरव्ययः ।
न मे दहति लाङ्गूलं कथमार्यां प्रधक्ष्यति ॥२२॥
22. yadvā dahanakarmāyaṃ sarvatra prabhuravyayaḥ ,
na me dahati lāṅgūlaṃ kathamāryāṃ pradhakṣyati.
22. yat vā dahana-karmā ayam sarvatra prabhuḥ avyayaḥ
na me dahati lāṅgūlam katham āryām pradhakṣyati
22. yat vā ayam dahana-karmā sarvatra prabhuḥ avyayaḥ
me lāṅgūlam na dahati katham āryām pradhakṣyati
22. Or, if this fire, whose nature is to burn, and which is omnipotent and undiminishing everywhere, does not burn my tail, then how will it consume the noble lady (Sita)?
