वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-48, verse-8

अवश्यं क्रियमाणस्य दृश्यते कर्मणः फलम् ।
अलं निर्वेदमागम्य न हि नो मलिनं क्षमम् ॥८॥
8. avaśyaṃ kriyamāṇasya dṛśyate karmaṇaḥ phalam ,
alaṃ nirvedamāgamya na hi no malinaṃ kṣamam.

alam nirvedam āgamya na hi naḥ malinam kṣamam

8. Certainly, the result of an action being performed is seen. Therefore, do not yield to despondency, for such a stained (mental state) is certainly not suitable for us.
