वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-9, verse-3

किं तु वक्ष्याम्यहं देवि त्वयैवोक्तमिदं वचः ।
क्षत्रियैर्धार्यते चापो नार्तशब्दो भवेदिति ॥३॥
3. kiṃ tu vakṣyāmyahaṃ devi tvayaivoktamidaṃ vacaḥ ,
kṣatriyairdhāryate cāpo nārtaśabdo bhavediti.
3. kim tu vakṣyāmi aham devi tvayā eva uktam idam vacaḥ
kṣatriyaiḥ dhāryate ca cāpaḥ na ārtaśabdaḥ bhavet iti
3. devi aham kim tu idam vacaḥ tvayā eva uktam vakṣyāmi
iti kṣatriyaiḥ cāpaḥ ca dhāryate ārtaśabdaḥ na bhavet
3. But, O goddess, I will repeat this very statement that you yourself made: 'Bows (cāpa) are wielded by kshatriyas so that no cry of distress should ever be heard.'
