वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-56, verse-15

सर्वथा तु कृतं कष्टं सीतामुत्सृजता वने ।
प्रतिकर्तुं नृशंसानां रक्षसां दत्तमन्तरम् ॥१५॥
15. sarvathā tu kṛtaṃ kaṣṭaṃ sītāmutsṛjatā vane ,
pratikartuṃ nṛśaṃsānāṃ rakṣasāṃ dattamantaram.

pratikartum nṛśaṃsānām rakṣasām dattam antaram

15. Indeed, by abandoning Sītā in the forest, great harm has been done. An opportunity has been given to the cruel demons (rakṣasa) to retaliate.
