वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-104, verse-18

लक्ष्मीश्चन्द्रादपेयाद्वा हिमवान् वा हिमं त्यजेत् ।
अतीयात् सागरो वेलां न प्रतिज्ञामहं पितुः ॥१८॥
18. lakṣmīścandrādapeyādvā himavān vā himaṃ tyajet ,
atīyāt sāgaro velāṃ na pratijñāmahaṃ pituḥ.

18. Fortune (lakṣmī) might depart from the moon, or the Himalayas might abandon their snow, or the ocean might transgress its boundaries; yet I will not abandon my father's solemn promise.
