अफलो ऽस्मि कृतस्तेन क्रोधात् सा च निराकृता ।
शापमोक्षेण महता तपो ऽस्यापहृतं मया ॥३॥

3. aphalo'smi kṛtastena krodhāt sā ca nirākṛtā ,
śāpamokṣeṇa mahatā tapo'syāpahṛtaṃ mayā.

3. tena krodhāt aphalaḥ asmi kṛtaḥ ca sā nirākṛtā
mayā mahatā śāpamokṣeṇa asya tapaḥ apahṛtam

3. By him (Gautama), I have been rendered unsuccessful due to his anger, and she (Ahalya) has been rejected. Through the great release from the curse, his asceticism (tapas) was taken away by me.
