बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-28, verse-5

चेष्टोच्चरश्मियोगार्धं शुभरश्मिः प्रकीर्त्यते ।
अष्टभ्यश्च विशुद्धोऽसाबशुभाख्यश्च कथ्यते ॥५॥
5. ceṣṭoccaraśmiyogārdhaṃ śubharaśmiḥ prakīrtyate .
aṣṭabhyaśca viśuddho'sābaśubhākhyaśca kathyate.
5. ceṣṭoccarśmiyogārdham śubharaśmiḥ prakīrtyate
aṣṭabhyaḥ ca viśuddhaḥ asau aśubhākhyaḥ ca kathyate
5. Half of the sum of the `ceṣṭā-raśmi` (motion ray) and the `uccaraśmi` (exaltation ray) is declared to be the auspicious ray (`śubharaśmi`). And that (value) which is subtracted from eight is called the inauspicious ray (`aśubhākhyaḥ`).
