उच्चचेष्टाकरान् व्येकान् दिग्भिर्हत्वा तु योजयेत् ।
तदर्धमिष्टसंज्ञं स्यात् कष्टं तत्षष्टितश्च्युतम् ॥६॥

6. uccaceṣṭākarān vyekān digbhirhatvā tu yojayet .
tadardhamiṣṭasaṃjñaṃ syāt kaṣṭaṃ tatṣaṣṭitaścyutam.

6.
One should multiply the factors indicating high activity (each reduced by one) by ten (the number of directions) and then add them. Half of that sum would be designated as the 'iṣṭa' (favorable) value. The 'kaṣṭa' (unfavorable) value is what remains when that 'iṣṭa' value is subtracted from sixty.
