षष्टितः पतितं चैतच्छेषं स्यादशुभं गृहे ।
तदर्धमन्यवर्गेषु ज्ञेयं विप्र शुभाऽशुभम् ॥९॥

9. ṣaṣṭitaḥ patitaṃ caitaccheṣaṃ syādaśubhaṃ gṛhe .

And that which is subtracted from sixty (60 - iṣṭa) would be the inauspicious (aśubha) remainder in a sign. O Brahmin, for other divisional charts (vargas), half of the auspicious and inauspicious values should be known.
