महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-49, verse-18

परेभ्योऽप्यभयार्थिभ्यो यो ददात्यभयं विभुः ।
तस्यास्माभिर्न शकितस्त्रातुमद्यात्मजो भयात् ॥१८॥
18. parebhyo'pyabhayārthibhyo yo dadātyabhayaṁ vibhuḥ ,
tasyāsmābhirna śakitastrātumadyātmajo bhayāt.
18. parebhyaḥ api abhayārthibhyaḥ yaḥ dadāti abhayam vibhuḥ
tasya asmābhiḥ na śakitaḥ trātum adya ātmajaḥ bhayāt
18. yaḥ vibhuḥ parebhyaḥ api abhayārthibhyaḥ abhayam dadāti,
tasya ātmajaḥ adya asmābhiḥ bhayāt trātum na śakitaḥ (asti)
18. That mighty one (vibhu) who grants safety (abhayam) even to others who seek refuge, his own son could not be protected by us from danger today.
