महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-29, verse-4

भूमिरापोऽनलो वायुः खं मनो बुद्धिरेव च ।
अहंकार इतीयं मे भिन्ना प्रकृतिरष्टधा ॥४॥
4. bhūmirāpo'nalo vāyuḥ khaṁ mano buddhireva ca ,
ahaṁkāra itīyaṁ me bhinnā prakṛtiraṣṭadhā.
4. bhūmiḥ āpaḥ analaḥ vāyuḥ kham manaḥ buddhiḥ eva
ca ahaṅkāraḥ iti iyam me bhinnā prakṛtiḥ aṣṭadhā

4. Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence, and indeed ego (ahaṅkāra) – these constitute My eight-fold, differentiated nature (prakṛti).
