महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-95, verse-16

मातुः कुलं पितृकुलं यत्र चैव प्रदीयते ।
कुलत्रयं संशयितं कुरुते कन्यका सताम् ॥१६॥
16. mātuḥ kulaṁ pitṛkulaṁ yatra caiva pradīyate ,
kulatrayaṁ saṁśayitaṁ kurute kanyakā satām.

16. A daughter places three families in doubt for good people: her mother's lineage, her father's lineage, and the family into which she is given in marriage.
