महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-59, verse-6

आत्मजेषु परं स्नेहं सर्वभूतानि कुर्वते ।
प्रियाणि चैषां कुर्वन्ति यथाशक्ति हितानि च ॥६॥
6. ātmajeṣu paraṁ snehaṁ sarvabhūtāni kurvate ,
priyāṇi caiṣāṁ kurvanti yathāśakti hitāni ca.
6. ātmajeṣu param sneham sarvabhūtāni kurvate |
priyāṇi ca eṣām kurvanti yathāśakti hitāni ca
6. All beings show great affection towards their offspring. And they do what is dear and beneficial to them, according to their capacity (śakti).
