महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-191, verse-14

किमिदानीं करिष्यामि मूढः कन्यामिमां प्रति ।
शिखण्डी किल पुत्रस्ते कन्येति परिशङ्कितः ॥१४॥
14. kimidānīṁ kariṣyāmi mūḍhaḥ kanyāmimāṁ prati ,
śikhaṇḍī kila putraste kanyeti pariśaṅkitaḥ.
14. kim idānīm kariṣyāmi mūḍhaḥ kanyām imām prati
śikhaṇḍī kila putraḥ te kanyā iti pariśaṅkitaḥ
14. mūḍhaḥ aham idānīm imām kanyām prati kim kariṣyāmi śikhaṇḍī
kila te putraḥ [asti] iti kanyā pariśaṅkitaḥ [asti]
14. What shall I, a bewildered man, do now concerning this daughter (Hiraṇyavarmā's daughter)? Śikhaṇḍin, though indeed known as your son, is suspected of being a girl.
